In Rome, my time of service will be shared between two places with distinct ministries and which bear witness to the diversity of the Anglican presence in the Eternal City: the Anglican Centre on one side, and the Episcopal Church of Saint Paul-within-the-walls in the other and the Joel Nafuma Refugee Center.

The Anglican Centre permanently represents the Anglican Communion in Rome, particularly to the Holy See. It is a hotbed of ecumenical dialogue and a space for fraternal encounters between the different Christian denominations that make up the universal Church. Its director is Archbishop Ian Ernest, former Archbishop of the Indian Ocean and Bishop of Mauritius. I am very happy to serve with ++ Ian who is also French-speaking!

Saint-Paul-within-the-Walls (San Paolo dentro le Mura) is a church of the Convocation of Episcopal Churches in Europe. St. Paul is an international and welcoming community which offers religious services in Italian, English and Spanish. Since 1982 the Joel Nafuma Center has served refugees in Rome through reintegration, legal aid, training and psychological support programs.

If you want to know more about these communities you can find a link to their websites in the section “Partners”
